Since the Gallup City Council voted in September to move forward the community's consensus design option, intensive work has continued on two fronts: (1) Design and (2) Fundraising. Over the last three months, the Design Team has begun to transform the conceptual design into construction drawings and hone in project costs. The project is looking at $3M+ for Coal Avenue Commons.
At the same time, the Project Team has raised nearly $150,000 with commitments from the City of Gallup and Gallup MainStreet, Arts, and Cultural District towards the construction of this project. Further, the City of Gallup has submitted $1M application to NM Department of Transportation and made two presentations seeking construction funding.
